This brownfield urban building site was an overgrown eyesore, situated at a very busy traffic junction forming the entrance to the Town centre. The site lay between an imposing five storey Victorian terrace and a 2 storey 1960’s low pitched residential dwelling. The brief was to maximise the potential of the site. In design terms, due to the diversity of scale and style of the buildings at either side, this proved very demanding. The resultant design solution is an elegant terrace of three townhouses stepping up in elevation and constructed using sympathetic materials. The new terrace of three houses now sits very comfortably with it's neighbours on this prominent site.
